A Passion Turned Purpose
At Paws & Relax With Malu, our journey began with a deep love for animals and a desire to create a safe, relaxing, and compassionate environment for grooming. Maria Costoya, the heart and hands behind the brand, started working as a pet bather at just 18 while pursuing a pre-vet degree. Though her career path shifted, her passion for animal care only grew stronger.
Over the years, Maria worked in nearly every role in the pet care industry—bather, doggy day camp attendant, kennel technician, and manager. It wasn’t until she bravely stepped into grooming that she discovered her true calling: helping pets feel happy, clean, and loved.

Maria noticed a problem in many grooming salons—pets being rushed through the process, handled without care, and treated like numbers. Driven to make a difference, she founded Paws & Relax With Malu LLC with a “quality over quantity” mindset. Her mission? To deliver premium, personalized grooming services where every pet is treated like family.
